Malayalam Movies Releasing in September 2026

Onam 2026 has turned out to be a strong season for the Kerala box office, with Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and Khalifa continuing their successful theatrical runs. Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has particularly maintained strong momentum after its opening, while Khalifa is also holding screens successfully.

As the Onam releases continue to benefit from the festive season, attention now shifts to September. I’m Game, starring Dulquer Salmaan and directed by Nahas Hidhayath, will kick off the month’s major releases on September 3, following its postponement from the Onam window.

The month will then see a steady flow of smaller and mid-sized Malayalam releases, including Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar, dhoomakethu Padakkuthira, Aasha, Nimrod and others. With the Onam films still occupying a considerable number of screens, these September releases will have to compete for available shows while trying to build positive word of mouth.
