Best Malayalam Movies of 2026 So Far

2026 has been a good year so far for Malayalam cinema and the Kerala box office. The first quarter was relatively slow, with only a few noticeable releases such as Sambhavam Adhyayam Onnu, Chatha Pacha and Masthishka Maranam.

Things picked up with Vaazha II, followed by successful releases including Balan and Mollywood Times. The Onam season has added another success with Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, which is currently enjoying a strong run at the Kerala box office.

With more releases still to come, 2026 has turned into a much better year for Malayalam cinema than its opening months suggested.
