Kattalan

Kattalan is an upcoming Malayalam action thriller film starring Antony Varghese, popularly known as Pepe. The movie is directed by Paul George and produced by Shareef Muhammed, who earlier produced the blockbuster Marco.

The film was announced in early 2025 and completed its shooting on February 24, 2026. Kattalan had a long production schedule of around 140 days, showing the scale of the project. The movie is reportedly made on a high budget and is expected to be one of the major action films from Malayalam cinema in 2026.

Producer Shareef Muhammed previously backed Unni Mukundan in Marco, which went on to become a major pan Indian hit. With Kattalan, he is once again betting big on a mass action film and hopes the movie will repeat the same success.

Kattalan is expected to release on May 14, 2026 along with other major Malayalam releases including Pallichattambi, Mollywood Times and Athiradi. The summer release window could set up one of the biggest box office clashes in recent years.

With Antony Varghese known for his intense screen presence and action roles, Kattalan is expected to deliver a high energy action thriller experience for audiences.
