Jayasurya’s much-awaited Malayalam film Aadu 3 has completed its censor formalities. The film has received a clean U certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), clearing it for theatrical release.

The film was planned to release on March 19, 2026. However, amid the current war-like situation in parts of the Middle East, rumours started circulating that the release might be postponed.

The GCC market plays a very important role for Malayalam films. A significant share of overseas box office collections usually comes from Gulf countries, and without strong collections from the region it can become difficult for big-budget films to recover their production costs.

However, the producers Friday Film House and Kavya Films dismissed the rumours through an official statement and confirmed that the film will release as originally scheduled on March 19.

Aadu 3 is the third installment in the popular Aadu franchise. Actor Jayasurya returns once again as the iconic character Shaji Pappan, a role that became hugely popular among Malayalam movie fans.

The earlier films Aadu: Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu (2015) and Aadu 2 (2017) gained a strong cult following over the years, especially after their digital and television releases.

The film is directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and produced by Vijay Babu under the banner of Friday Film House. Several familiar characters from the previous films are expected to return in the third part as well.
