Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer
Based on the tales of Kadamattathu Kathanar, the legendary priest who is believed to have lived in Kadamattom and possessed supernatural powers, Kathanar is a large-scale Malayalam period film directed by Rojin Thomas, the filmmaker behind the critically acclaimed Home.
Produced and distributed by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies, the project is being made on a reported budget of around ₹90 crore, placing it among the biggest Malayalam productions in recent years.
The film is expected to be an important project in Jayasurya’s career, particularly given its scale and theatrical ambitions. While Jayasurya has delivered several memorable performances, many of his biggest commercial successes as a solo lead have come through the Aadu franchise.
