Operation Ganga

Operation Ganga is the upcoming Malayalam military rescue thriller directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vishnu Mohan and starring Mohanlal. Vishnu Mohan made his directorial debut with Meppadiyan, which won the National Film Award for Best First Film of a Director, before following it up with the relationship drama Kadha Innuvare.

The film is inspired by real incidents surrounding India’s 2022 Operation Ganga evacuation mission, which rescued Indian citizens stranded during the Russia-Ukraine war. The first look carries the tagline “A Nation’s Promise” and prominently features Kyiv’s iconic Mother Ukraine monument, setting the tone for a large-scale international rescue story. Mohanlal leads a pan-Indian ensemble that includes Arjun Rampal, Adil Hussain, Bhagyashri Borse and R. Parthiban. The film is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under Sree Gokulam Movies, with music by Shashwat Sachdev, cinematography by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek and action choreography by Sea-Young Oh.
