About the Movie
Dear Students brings Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara back together after Love Action Drama, and that pairing is pretty much the main hook here. That film worked largely on their chemistry and the easygoing tone, so the curiosity around this reunion is quite straightforward.
Directed by George Philip Roy and Sandeep Kumar, the film wrapped shooting in March 2025, while the trailer had already come out on August 15, 2025. That kind of timeline usually means the makers were confident enough to show something early, but it also puts pressure on the final product to match that initial impression.
Nayanthara is getting active in Malayalam again with Patriot and this one lined up, while Nivin Pauly is coming off films like Prathichaya and Babygirl that didn’t really work.
At this point, this looks like a film that is banking a lot on the familiarity of its lead pair. Whether that alone is enough is something we’ll only know once it releases.
