Drishyam 3 Likely to Be Postponed

The much-awaited Malayalam film Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph, may see a change in its planned release schedule. The film was earlier expected to hit theatres on April 2, but industry discussions now suggest that the release could be postponed.
One of the major factors being considered is the Kerala state elections scheduled for April 9. Election periods in the state usually bring intense political activity and campaign restrictions, which can impact theatre footfall and promotions for major releases.
Another concern reportedly influencing the decision is the war-like situation developing in parts of the GCC region. Gulf countries contribute a significant share of the overseas box office for Malayalam films, and uncertainty in the region could affect theatrical performance.
For Malayalam films, the first two weeks after release are considered crucial for box office performance. Because of this, the makers are unlikely to take any risks that could impact collections. A possible postponement would allow the film to release in a more stable window and ensure maximum box office potential.
However, an official confirmation from the makers is still awaited.
